Priceline Hotel: Newark (Jersey City)

I'm trying to get a decent price on the Hyatt Regency on the Hudson for our stay between DEC 23 and DEC 28. Here are the lowest published rates on the Hyatt website:

DEC 23... $219

DEC 24... $189

DEC 25... $189

DEC 26... $239

DEC 27... $299

TOTAL... $1135

AVG RATE/NIGHT... $227

I tried bidding earlier today with no success. Started with $90, then $100, $110 up to $125 with no success before running out of rebids. I would like to pay no more than $150 as I can get my second choice (Hyatt Place Secaucus) for that price directly through Hyatt's site. Will continue bidding tomorrow but am wondering if there is even a chance my bid of up $150 would get accepted for that time period and if not, should I even take a chance waiting any longer pas tomorrow before booking my second choice considering the holiday season?

Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
