Booked 5 nights (1/8/09-1/13/09) at the 3* Royal Kona Resort for $86/night, booking made 11/16/09.

Amenities listed: Oceanfront, Restaurant, Pool, Tennis, Spa

FYI that this hotel has mixed reviews because there is a rennovated section (Alii & Lagoon Towers) and unrennovated section (Bay Tower), which is suposed to be a dump. Not sure which section Hotwire booking is for, or if it varies with each booking, or if the hotel decides.

Anyway, I'm thrilled I found this site--I needed to book this specific hotel but wanted to get a good rate. Booking directly with the hotel, standard rooms range between $145-$200, depending on views and which tower you're in. So definitely at least 60% savings off of the full price. And I checked the packages offered for the same dates just to make sure that I'd (probably) get the hotel I wanted.
