roothy Posted November 16, 2008 Report Posted November 16, 2008 Tried to get something yesterday smaller and cheaper, going up to $21 for a full-sized car. Today, just decided I was done messing around and just plugged in $22 for an SUV, then $24, adding a convertible, then re-bid $25 adding a full-sized car. It was accepted at National. I don't know that much about National - Does anyone know if they charge for a spouse to drive? Their website says a fee "may be charged."
thereuare Posted November 16, 2008 Report Posted November 16, 2008 Thank you for sharing your winning bid with the board.Avis and Budget are the only companies i know where the standard US policy (always doublecheck on your own) is that there is no additional charge for a spouse as an additional driver. The others, including National, do charge an additional driver fee. Here is a helpful thread: Car Rental Additional Driver FeePlease use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Have a good trip.
