Amber1976 Posted November 16, 2008 Report Posted November 16, 2008 I looked in your hotel list and in other threads but couldn't figure this one out (sorry). Could you help please?4 StarNorth ScottsdaleAmenities: resort, non-smoking, fitness center, pool(s), restaraunt, business center, high speed internet, golf nearby, tennis nearbyTrip advisor rating: 3.5 out of 5$66/night for 11/29-12/3Thanks so much for your help!
Amber1976 Posted November 16, 2008 Author Report Posted November 16, 2008 Well I've done more research and I think it's the Orange Tree Golf Resort...Hmm, don't really think it's what I was looking for. Guess I'll keep searching.
thereuare Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 What type of hotel are you looking for and what is your maximum budget? Is this the only zone you're interested in, or were you interested in this property based upon the price? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Amber1976 Posted November 17, 2008 Author Report Posted November 17, 2008 I am open to all areas, though staying closer to Mesa would be helpful as that's where we are going to need to be on occassion (though we aren't adverse to driving and will have a car. I am hoping for a more family friendly resort that has only suite rooms (as I know I can't pick the room and know that I want a suite) that have a fully separate living area so that we can have a space between us and the kids for privacy. Preferably one with a water slide Arizona Grande but if not, at least somewhat kid friendly. Top budget is about 150/night but am trying to get the lowest posible as we get $150/day per diem to pay for food, car, and lodging so whatever I don't spend on the hotel pays for the others. Thanks for your help!
thereuare Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 ...resort that has only suite rooms...I'm no expert on this area, but I think this is going to be a tough call... are there specific properties which you know meet this criteria? tilepusher Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 I'm not an expert on this area either, but I believe the two Pointe Hilton resorts fit the bill. The Squaw Peak Resort is considered to be the more kid-friendly of the two. A $99 rate is available for your dates at both resorts through the Pointe Hilton website. You can probably get a lower rate by bidding on Priceline (North Phoenix zone), but you wouldn't be able to choose the resort or room type, and there is a small chance that you could end up at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort, which has mostly non-suite rooms and is a long way from Mesa.
Amber1976 Posted November 17, 2008 Author Report Posted November 17, 2008 Thank you both for your replies. I believe the Pointe Hilton properties as well as the Arizona Grande resorts fit the bill for what I'm looking for. I prefer the Arizona Grande so I was trying to see if I could get one of those on HOTWIRE but it doesn't look as if the Arizona Grande is listed as one of the available properties (from what I could tell) and the Pointe Hilton ones are close enough to their website price that I might as well book there. I will keep checking until I book though. :)Thanks again for the help.

tilepusher Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 If your preference is for the Arizona Grand Resort, you may want to try PRICELINE. As far as I've been able to determine, the Arizona Grand Resort is the only Resort-level property in the Tempe-ASU zone (obviously, I can't guarantee that). I couldn't tell you how much you would need to bid to get it, since I have never seen a winning bid posted for a Resort in Tempe.I can't access the special rate for the Pointe Hiltons though the links that thereuare posted, and the special doesn't appear on the resorts' Hilton.com listing. You may have to go through the link on the Pointe Hilton website.
