Priceline Hotel: Help identifying 5* in Cancun

As the title says, I need help identifying the 5* hotel option in Cancun (Downtown and Beaches) Zone. I am looking to bid for 12/31/08 to 01/05/09 for 1 room. Any help would be appreciated. I will make sure I will bid through the necessary Priceline link.

There have not been any 5* hotels reported to the board, but the Fiesta Americana Grand Coral Beach is rated 5* by PRICELINE so that is at least one possibility.

Thanks for the offer. I did notice that the Ritz Carlton is also a 5* property. Not sure if Priceline offers that in its list of hotels.

A bidding strategy would help. I am comfortable with an upper limit of $250-$260 per night. First choice would be a 5* Hotel followed by a Resort type property. The dates are 12/31/08 to 01/05/09.

At the 5* level you have THREE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

The above is likely too low, but with this much time before your stay, and no history for 5* properties, i would start with the above. Thanks for the strategy. I tried yesterday night and went upto $190 a night, but was unsuccessful in getting a booking. Will be trying again later today, maybe upping the price some.

When you try again it's usually a good idea to 'backtrack' your bids a bit rather than just increase from where you left off... this helps you get a lower rate if lower priced inventory has been released since your last bid.
