xuan_xuan Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 Hello. This is the first time I use this website, but after reading the topics posted here, I found it's really helpful.I'll be arriving at JFK around 8pm of Nov. 14, looking for a hotel near JFK Airport for one night. There are only 3 choices on Hotwire. One of them is 3-star hotel in John F. Kennedy Intl Airport JFK - Jamaica, description is "In addition to a large supply of budget-friendly lodging, you're close to a wildlife refuge and Rockaway Beach". Any guess which hotel it is or any comments? My budget is $120, max.Thank you.

xuan_xuan Posted November 10, 2008 Author Report Posted November 10, 2008 Thanks. Here's the description:3-star hotel in John F. Kennedy Intl Airport JFK - JamaicaThis hotel features the following amenities: Airport Shuttle <amenity names only please... not descriptions> This hotel features the following amenities: Fitness Center Guests have access to exercise equipment; an additional charge may apply. This hotel features the following amenities: High-speed Internet Access Guestrooms are equipped with high-speed Internet access; an extra charge may apply.
thereuare Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 In the future please remove the "This hotel features the following amenities:" from your posts... see how much easier this is to read than what you've copy/pasted above:Airport Shuttle Fitness Center High-speed Internet Access... this ensures that we don't miss any amenities which should be include in our pursuit of identifying this property. The property above has not yet been identified, it could be the Best Western Kennedy Airport with a 'missing' Complimentary Breakfast icon, but that would just be speculation and there is no evidence that the Breakfast icon is not appearing in the hotel product.I'll also add that if you change your search from 2adults/0children to 2adults/1children a different 3* property is shown with: Shuttle, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Interent, Business, Laundy... this one is a match for both the Doubletree and the Holiday Inn, but i think the Holiday Inn is a slightly better guess and that would be our best guess.I'll also point out that the 2.5* on HOTWIRE (Airport Shuttle, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Laundry icons) for $89/nite is a match for the Ramada Plaza JFK Airport and the reviews for that one are NOT GOOD.Unfortunatley, a LOT of the hotels in this area don't get very good reviews... fortunately most just use them for a quick stopover, as there really isn't much to do in the area or much of a reason to stay here unless you're between flights (or have an early departure or late arrival)Let us know whatever you decide to do for this stay or if we can be of further help. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. xuan_xuan Posted November 11, 2008 Author Report Posted November 11, 2008 Yes, the hotel is Best Western Kennedy Airport. The total price is $125.80, including taxes and service charges. Thanks.
thereuare Posted November 11, 2008 Report Posted November 11, 2008 Congratulations on your win! While the reviews are not great, this is just a one nite stay between flights so hopefully it will suit your needs well. It's unfortunate, but there are not a great selection of hotels in this area.Thank you for sharing your results with the board. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay.
