d-uneek Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 I see that on Hotwire there is a 2.5 star hotel located in the downtown Vancouver, BC Entertainment District, but no such hotel exist on the list for downtown Vancouver that matches that description. Does anybody know which hotel that is?
tilepusher Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 We need the dates you entered for your search and the amenities; otherwise, there's no way for us to know if we're looking at the same hotel that you are.
d-uneek Posted October 30, 2008 Author Report Posted October 30, 2008 The date was Thursday November, 6th-7th. The hotel price was $39 dollars and the only amenity offered was a restaurant. I hope that helps?
thereuare Posted October 31, 2008 Report Posted October 31, 2008 Please follow-up your previous Priceline Vancouver thread with whatever you ended up doing for that stay... then bump this thread and we'll have a look at the above. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. d-uneek Posted November 3, 2008 Author Report Posted November 3, 2008 I sent a final reply to that old thread. I'm not sure if that's what you meant?
thereuare Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 Are you still seeing this property offered on a current HOTWIRE search... i don't see a 2.5* offered in this zone with only a Restaurant icon.If you are still seeing this property, are you searching for more than one room or for more than the default 2addults/0children?Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. tilepusher Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 The hotel is back (at $42 when I looked). There isn't enough information to make a positive ID; based on price, my best guess would be the Howard Johnson, which is currently Cdn$59 (one double bed) on the hotel's website.Have you tried PRICELINE? Judging from recently reported wins, you may be able to get a 3* or better for only slightly more.
d-uneek Posted November 4, 2008 Author Report Posted November 4, 2008 Thank you for the insight on which hotel that might be. I think I will try priceline since there's no way to be sure which hotel I would be reserving. I'll be sure and let you guys know what I find.
d-uneek Posted November 4, 2008 Author Report Posted November 4, 2008 The hotel is back on the site again for the same dates November 6th-7th, 1 night, 1adult. A 2.5 Star in the downtown entertainment district with the one restaurant as the amenity. The price is now $43 dollars instead of $39 though. One poster said they think it's the Howard Johnnsen hotel, but I'm fairly familiar with that area and don't recall there being one in that particular zone. Any ideas you might have?
tilepusher Posted November 5, 2008 Report Posted November 5, 2008 The hotel is on Granville Street, just north of Davie. You can verify this information on the hotel's website.
d-uneek Posted November 6, 2008 Author Report Posted November 6, 2008 ohhhhh...I know the one you're talking about. Thanks! Yeah that one should be a 1 star.
d-uneek Posted November 6, 2008 Author Report Posted November 6, 2008 Used the link provided for PRICELINE by this website. Started at $35 dollars in downtown Vancouver with 4* preference (wishful thinking). That bid was rejected, so I then tried 3.5* for the same price of $35 dollars. That was also rejected, so I then tried the same price at 3* but was again declined. Then I included the North Vancouver area for another free bid attempt, maintaining the 3* star minimum and increasing my bid to $45 dollars but was rejected again.I then included Langley in the zone options for another free bid and increased my cost limit to $55 dollars. That bid was accepted and after reviewing the hotel's website, I'm pleased with the cost and quality. Happy hunting!
