Rhine-and-Roses Posted November 1, 2008 Report Posted November 1, 2008 I've been bidding in the $150-160 range for a 5* in Dublin (through this PRICELINE link, of course) and have had several counter offers. First $287, then today $186 +$33 per night fees. I upped my $150 to $160 with a free bid zone, but it was rejected. Decided this was probably the Westin Dublin, from previous experience with the counter offer of $287. (I accepted it once and got the Westin.)I went to the Westin site to see if the rates had changed from 255Euro I had booked as a backup, and now AAA rates (refundable) were down to 179.10Euro. I changed my back up, and will try again until I leave (both Priceline and the Westin site). The difference between the Priceline offer and my refundable rate is not good enough to take it now. If it goes down, I will take it and note it here. Also, the stay will get me enough Starwood points for a big free stay, so I may be willing to pay an extra $10 or so for the points.
ravigdo Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 I've gotten the Shelbourne as a 5* for Dublin although for different dates, for $160.- R
