Hi...this is my first time posting on this forum...and i am kinda a wreck here....and if some kind individual could pls help me out i'd appreciate it.

what does this line mean in the priceline bidding process:

Remember - our partners will only accept one request for the same star level, city area and dates in a 72 hour period. So if you need a specific zone or star level - be sure your first offer price is your best price!

does this mean i can only bid once in 72 hours??? cuz i need to hook it up with a room for tomorrow in the san diego area and i am low balling a 4* accomodation...will i b able to jack up my bid as soon as i find its rejected...if rejected.

thnx in advance

details of stay:

07/21 - 07/23

initial bid: $55

san diego

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Priceline will only let you make one bid with the same parameters per 72 hours. This prevents users with time on their hands from bidding $1 for their stay, then bidding $2, then bidding $3, etc, etc until they are finally accepted. You are allowed to bid again immediately if you change your check-in or check-out date, lower your minimum star quality, or add an additional zone.

You can always use RE-BID ZONES and you have a few when bidding 4* in the San Diego area. Feel free to ask any questions you have regarding the re-bid concept.

If you post the zones you're willing to accept we'll also try to suggest a bidding startegy to follow.

Thnx for ur reply.

these are my primary areas of interest:

Carlsbad-Encinitas-Cardiff

Del Mar

San Diego Coastal

Downtown San Diego & Harbor Island

but i can incorporate these locals as well:

Coronado

Point Loma - Shelter Island - Old Town

Mira Mesa

all help is very very much appreciated. I am sweatin like a pig here...my flight leaves in a cupla hours n i still havent been able to pin this down. Thnx again.

i read on this site that some ppl have been able to get the Hyatt Islandia for $65 a night...and that is the budget i am fixing.

EDIT: I just checked out ur link for "re-bd zones." damn....wish i read that earlier.

At the 4* level you have 7 re-bids available.

By adding re-bids you can still bid the Coastal Zone even though have already bid it in the last 72 hours. Just add a re-bid zone and raise your price a little, if rejected add another re-bid zone and raise the price, etc, etc, until you are out of re-bids or you are accepted.

Doing so you will be able to reach the $65 price you mentioned for the desired zone you want.

Let us know if you have any questions, but i wanted to give you a quick reply (rather than a typed out strategy) since you said you were pressed for time.
