sr273 Posted October 31, 2008 Report Posted October 31, 2008 I'm looking for a room in Jersey City for 11/20-11/23. I tried my bid up to $135 but I still didn't get it. I know that Thursday night rates ($300+) at Hyatt are higher than Friday and Saturday nights ($200+). Even though I tried to bid for two nights (11/21-11/23) at $120, I still didn't get anything. I think I may try to bid up to $150 today. If it doesn't work, Milford Hotels offer online special rates at about $160-$170. That's my backup plan.Any suggestions?
thereuare Posted November 1, 2008 Report Posted November 1, 2008 Welcome (officially) to BetterBidding!I would try Jersey City again as you suggest (if you need a specific bidding strategy let us know), but if that is rejected, i woudl then try for a 4*, then a 3.5*, then a 3*, hotel in Manhattan itself (or if price is most important start by trying for the 3*). I think you have a chance at a 3* PRICELINE property for a similar price to the Milford Plaza (which i'm not a fan of)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes and/or how we can be of further help. sr273 Posted November 3, 2008 Author Report Posted November 3, 2008 Finally got Doubletree Jersey City for $150 for 11/20-11/23. I know it's quite high, but at $150 I still can't get Hyatt for the same dates.
