Priceline Hotel: 3* hotel Baton Rouge - East (section 2)

I'm trying to bid for a hotel in Baton Rouge, LA for 12/29 - 01/02 for 2 adults and one infant.

I put in a bid for $51 for a 3* in the "best deal" section (number 2) for Baton Rouge and they countered with a total bid of $65 for east baton rouge for my time.

I'm trying to decide if this is the "Hyatt Place" location . . . the last two days that section of Baton Rouge has shown a median price of $99, but today it showed a median price of $154.

Currently the regular price for the Hyatt Place is $78.21 and I'm trying to decide if the counter offer is for Hyatt Place or another 3* hotel in the vicnity. Any help would be appreciated.

With PRICELINE there is no way to target a specific property or determine the hotel you're most likely to get... you could receive any hotel in the zone at the minimum star rating you select. Besides the fact that most on the board find the median price figure shown by PRICELINE to be meaningless, by definition, this is a median price and not the price of one specific property, so i don't think you can (nor should try) to use this information to try to determine the hotel you will likely receive.

If you are trying to target a specific property HOTWIRE is usually a better option... if absoluate lowest price is most important than you can usually do a little better with PRICELINE, but the trade-off is that you aren't able to take an educated guess as to the property you may likely receive.
