kittyfr Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 Hi,I am currently looking for the best deal (who is not :) ) to stay in New York.I looked at Hotwire and they have an Hotel for those date for $256 Midtown East Fitness, Restaurant, Business, Internet, SPA.From what I saw on your list of hotel it seems to be the W. Could it be another one? Will it be a problem to use Hotwire as I am not US resident? Thanks
slick_gd Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 You should have no problems using HOTWIRE as a non-US resident. Is this a 4* hotel that you listed?
kittyfr Posted October 28, 2008 Author Report Posted October 28, 2008 You should have no problems using HOTWIRE as a non-US resident. Is this a 4* hotel that you listed?Yes sorry 4 stars....Do you think I could have a better deal on Priceline?
slick_gd Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 I'd agree that this hotel looks to be the W. HOTWIRE also mentions that this hotel has a 3/5 tripadvisor traveler review rating based on 460+reviews, and the W has a 3/5 rating based on 478 reviews. This W is the one on Lexington Avenue.Typically, you will get a better price on PRICELINE because you are given absolutely no information as to which hotel you are going to get. It is completely a shot in the dark. Since HOTWIRE offers you some basic information of the hotel you have an idea of what you are getting so the price usually isn't as great as with PRICELINE. It's a trade-off between price and flexibility. You need to be pretty flexible if you are looking at going the PRICELINE route, however, the deals can definitely be worth it.Is this something you are willing to consider?
kittyfr Posted October 28, 2008 Author Report Posted October 28, 2008 I have been trying PRICELINE for 1 week or so but I guess I am not reallistic with the price. I saw those deals at 145 and 160 so I am reluctant to go over 190. My husband is willing to wait until the very last moment... I will also probably have to split my stay....I am not sure about the whole thing.... So the W at 256 is not a bad idea overall.... I will have to speak to my husband until I go any further....Thanks
kittyfr Posted October 28, 2008 Author Report Posted October 28, 2008 Just tried PRICELINE at $200 and I finally got the W Hotel cheapper.... (Went trough your PRICELINE link...)Thanks
