finikia Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 This the first time I used Priceline, but I've been reading your forum since June! And clicking on your links to PRICELINE:) Started bidding for 4 nights (December 4-8th) as well as other variations (December 4-7th, and 5th-8th) a couple days ago, and had gone up to $172 for a 4 star in CPS, MTE, MTW, ESB, UWS, Times Square which had been rejected. My goal was to try to keep the price close to $200 per night, including taxes.Today, I tried a different approach. I'd love to end up at the Algonquin (a 3.5 * in MTW) or Morgans (4 * in ESB) if they came up (but a 4 star in MTE or MTW would also do at the right price), so I bid for a 3.5 * in MTE, MTW, CPS and ESB for 4 nights (Dec 4-8) at $160 which was not accepted. I decided to try bidding for Sunday only (since it's often a cheaper night), and raised my bid to $162 for a 3.5 * in MTE, MTW, ESB or CPS. The Hilton in MTW on Avenue of the Americas(4 *) accepted the bid.
