Hotwire Hotel: Another Priceline question

HI there

I will be going to NYC from Nov 21 to 23rd

I have tickets to the opera but would also like to stay in the main hub

just wondering which areas would be best for Priceline

I initally was only going to try MTE - as per suggested by a friend but think I may be better off trying other areas as well

I have booked at the Holiday Inn (57th Street) but feel I could probably get a better price (and hotel) with PRICELINE

any thoughts on how and when I should start trying

also - which areas would be safest to stay

I am looking at 4 star hotels only
