billsterbill Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 Made crazy bidding run starting at 130..finally got this. I played all the rules for the past few days with great frustration. Seems like a NY marathon can up prices. I am tho pleased with the property as it has very good ratings from Travel Advisor. This is a classic example of frustrated beyond belief of bidding for a week now looking for a place.. i realized ( accepted ) that i wasnt being realistic so i finally caved in. but in the end pleased. I think the panic started to set in about having a place to land when i got there. This is the 1st half of a split bid. the second half is 4* mtw at the Hilton for 140 go figure.. I bid through the PRICELINE link here.
thereuare Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 Congratulations on your win!The NY Marathon is a HUGE event and it really does, as you can see, effect hotel prices for a few days leading up to the event. Even if you're not a runner, it's a great event to come out and watch and cheer on the runners (very uplifting and moving, even as a spectator)Can you confirm the star rating of this property... you listed 2.5* in the topic title but i believe PRICELINE currently rates this property 3 stars. Can you check your winning bid confirmation page and confirm the rating. Thanks for sharing your results with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.Enjoy this leg of your stay.
