IrishRed Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 Booked for my partner and his parents for a wedding this weekend. Accepted on the first bid.I'm not there, but partner is less than impressed. He's comparing it to a Super 8 or Motel 6, not a 3.5 star hotel. Apparently the walls/many guest doors are full of holes, the wallpaper is peeling off everywhere you look, and the rooms are tragically dreary and dated/need maintenance.I guess it's this sort of 'charm' that PRICELINE consideres "Boutique"?He's getting pictures and we'll write to Priceline...not sure if they'll do anything, but this really should not be a 3.5.
thereuare Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 Sorry to hear the stay isn't going well.Let us know PRICELINE's response to his complaint... i'd also encourage him/you to post the photos taken at our sister site, Real Hotel Photos.comAlso, just to clarify, 3.5* is its own star category, a hotel rated between 3* and 4*, it isn't meant to imply "boutique" (so i wouldn't make that reference in any letter your partner sends)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Hope his/your future stays are better :) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
IrishRed Posted October 26, 2008 Author Report Posted October 26, 2008 Actually, on my Priceline "Previous Requests" page, under Star level, it lists this win as "Boutique" level although it specifies 3.5 star on the actual confirmation. So it was Priceline itself who declared it a Boutique hotel, not us. Priceline did reply suggesting we talk to the hotel manager...it wasn't a room quality issue so much as an overall quality issue. So talking to the manager would accomplish nothing...it simply seems to be misclassified.I don't care to make a big deal of it...it was worth $50, just think it was misclassified...
