soccermom03 Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 We are 3 women (mom & 2 sisters) traveling to NYC on these dates. We have secured a motel in the Financial District, but are trying to find something more centrally located. I have found a listing on HW for Midtown Central--$219 per night. I have looked at the amenities and find it has a restaurant and pool on site-south of Central Park, north of TS. Do you know which hotel that might be? When I searched, I put 3 adults in my search. I want to make sure this room would have 2 beds and not just one.Any advice?
AaronJB Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 Welcome to the site! :)Let me do some research and see what I can find for these dates. Be back in a few minutes.
AaronJB Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 The HOTWIRE 3* Midtown Central listing would appear to be the Holiday Inn Midtown. However, you can actually find it for less via Orbitz. It's $229.50 non-refundable via Orbitz, but if you use the coupon code FABSAVE10, you get 10% off each night, which brings it to about $206 or so.If this is of interest, it would be greatly appreciated if you could use the site's link to Orbitz.com, as it would support the site.
soccermom03 Posted October 25, 2008 Author Report Posted October 25, 2008 thanks. I will do some research on Trip Advisor for this hotel and be back here to book if I decide. Any other interesting deals that you have found?
soccermom03 Posted October 25, 2008 Author Report Posted October 25, 2008 Also, should we try to go ahead and grab something or wait a bit longer to see if any deals pop up?
thereuare Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding!Where, and how much, is your back-up hotle in the Financial District? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. AaronJB Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 I'm not seeing anything cheaper than the Holiday Inn, especially when it comes to 3 adults (since the third adult will cause extra person fees.)
soccermom03 Posted October 26, 2008 Author Report Posted October 26, 2008 We have the Hampton Inn in the Seaport/Financial District area. The total for the 3 nights is $966.
thereuare Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 What are your thoughts regarding the HOTWIRE hotel above... it seems to offer a substantial discount, and a better location, than the Hampton Inn you have reserved? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. soccermom03 Posted October 27, 2008 Author Report Posted October 27, 2008 I think it is definitely a good alternative. I am in the process of checking with the other travelers to get their opinions. We just really liked having the queen beds as opposed to doubles--but we can survive it for a better location.
AaronJB Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 Orbitz, using the FABSAVE10 coupon, does have a better price overall on the Holiday Inn than HOTWIRE.
soccermom03 Posted October 28, 2008 Author Report Posted October 28, 2008 Done! Booked this morning through the Orbitz link. Thanks! :)
thereuare Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 Congratulations on your purchase... glad you got this settled and are happy with the results. Thanks for using our Orbitz link for your purchase (and nice job AaronJB resarching this one!!)Enjoy your stay.
