Priceline Hotel: 3* San Francisco (Fisherman's Wharf) Hyatt

I want to bid for two nights 1 room in Fishermans Wharf, San Francisco

From the hotels websites:

Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf $239

Hyatt at Fisherman's Wharf $199

Hilton Fishermans Wharf $159

Tuscan Inn $161

I haven't seen to many successful bids in this area.

What star rating and you looking for? From the hotels i see you supplied prices for would it be 4*?

Do you have a ballpark or maximum bid amount in mind?

Oops I knew I was forgetting something. Those are actually listed as 3* hotels. Priceline isn't showing any 4* in the Fisherman's Wharf zone. I could get a 3* on Hotwire for those days for $120 (I think its the Radisson) I would like to keep the Priceline bidding under $100 since I know what hotel I can get if I use Hotwire.

I can offer this limited info: if you keep checking hotel-direct rates and find that Hyatt's price has gone to $149 or lower, a bid of $60 will get the Hyatt.

You have one re-bid in the zone so.

Since you have some time i'd start by trying $56 and if that is rejected i'd up my bid to $65 (based upon the advice from thesilb that the Hyatt isn't below $149).

If the above is rejected i'd be bidding again in 72 hours but check rates to see if they have come down at all. If not, i'd start my bids at $5 over the prior bid and raise $5 on the re-bid.

Let us know how it goes or if you have any questions regarding the above. Maybe you'll get a conter-offer while bidding and that would give us some additional insight.

There's definitely time to play around, so seems like that is very good advice to avoid an overbid. That being said, I'd be surprised if this zone could be had for less than $65. But please, prove me wrong! :)

I was only able to get the one night at Fisherman's Wharf at this price. I had a really hard time finding any low rates for 8/21 a Saturday night. We are going to stay in San Jose that night now at the Cypress (got it for $65)
