girlinthemoon_78 Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 Hello,I'm looking for a little last minute help finding a hotel in Niagara Falls. We're going Oct. 25 for one night. We'd prefere to stay in a 3.5* or 4* and our budget is $120. I was thinking of Priceline since I usually get better deals but I don't see a lot of history for this city. Any ideas? Thanks a bunch in advance!
thereuare Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 There are over 150 threads just for Niagara Falls PRICELINE so i'm not sure how much additional information you need or are looking for.Are you willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3.5* OR are you looking for the least expensive 3.5* or better hotel for this stay?Let us know and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. girlinthemoon_78 Posted October 24, 2008 Author Report Posted October 24, 2008 Hi,Thanks for your quick response. We're hoping to stay at a nice hotel whether it be a 4* or 3.5*, perferably closer to the falls as opposed to the Lundy's Lane area. Is that the kind of info you need?I'm not too familiar with your site. I just looked on the Priceline hotel listings and didn't find too many for Niagara Falls. Where can I find the area you mentioned in your last post? Thanks again for your help!
slick_gd Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 I would say that most of the 3.5* and 4* hotels in the 'Niagara Falls' zone are close to the falls, however there may be a couple that aren't as close and those would typically be the lesser rated hotels. You would be pretty safe with a 4* hotel win being close to the falls. But do keep in mind that there is a big price difference between city view and fallsview rooms in these hotels and you are likely to be put in a city view room if you book through PRICELINE or HOTWIRE. The hotel may put you in a fallsview room if you request one, but they are under no obligation to do so, and they may not even be able to depending on availability. The 'Niagara Falls' zone on PRICELINE does not extend too far up Lundy's Lane and is pretty centralized to the main part of the Falls area / Clifton Hill, so I wouldn't be too concerned with that. And even more, I don't think there are many high rated hotels out in that area as they tend to be some of the sleazier hotel/motels.So just a little more information before we suggest a strategy. Are you specifically looking for a hotel close to the falls or are you willing to have anything that is in the general touristy area? Are you willing to pay a little more for the 4* vs. 3.5*?Is it just for 2 adults in the room or will you need more than 1 bed?

Is that the kind of info you need? Not really... to suggest a strategy for you to follow we need to know if you want to first try for a 4* hotel up to your limit and then, if rejected, try for a 3.5* hotel... OR start off trying for the least expensive 3.5* or better property. If you go to the SEARCH function on the board (the previous link is already set-up to only search the CANADA>>PRICELINE section of the board) and enter 'Niagara' (without the quotes) you'll be shown all the posts on the board which mention Niagara in them. You can further narrow the search to only search the topic titles (as all reported wins on the board in this zone will have this word in the topic title) by clicking the button on the bottom right corner of the search box. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. girlinthemoon_78 Posted October 24, 2008 Author Report Posted October 24, 2008 We'd like to stay in a 4* close to the falls within our budget and if that's not possible try a 3.5. It will be for 2 adults but only 1 bed is needed.
slick_gd Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 Taking into account your maximum bid of $120, here is how I would bid it:Access PRICELINE through this link:4* Niagara Falls - $90If rejected, add re-bid zone A - $100If rejected, add re-bid zone B - $110If rejected, add re-bid zone C - $120If rejected, close browser and re-access PRICELINE:3.5* Niagara Falls - $90If rejected, add re-bid zone A - $100If rejected, add re-bid zone B - $110If rejected, add re-bid zone C - $120If that fails, HOTWIRE is showing a 4* hotel for $129 that looks to be the DoubleTree Resort & SpaAmenities include: resort, fitness, pool, restaurant, business, laundry, internet, spa
girlinthemoon_78 Posted October 24, 2008 Author Report Posted October 24, 2008 All my bids were rejected for 4* and 3.5* but I did book (using the PRICELINE link from this site) the 3* Radisson Hotel And Suites Fallview for $85. I've read the reviews and they seem good so I'm looking forward to it.Thanks so much for all your help!
