XT600 Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 quite long time this hotel didn't win anymore I know now why: Expedia sells "3 for 2 nights" in this hotel and final price is $10 cheaper than my bid.
thereuare Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 Thank you for sharing your results with the board. If the $10 is not including taxes and fees PRICELINE does offer a best rate guarantee which you can file a claim and try to get the difference refunded to you. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Good luck. XT600 Posted October 24, 2008 Author Report Posted October 24, 2008 Thanks Thereyouare!I asked already but - as usual - the guarantee applies only for "normal" rates. The "3for2" which is even offered by Marriott site does of course not belong to this "normal" rates. it's a "promotional rate" acc. to customer service.I'll try it againis it true that in Europe, where taxes are anyway in roomrates usually, the "taxes&fees" from priceline are just their "fees", no taxes?Again a good example that Zurich might not really a "priceline" bargain city :)
thereuare Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 You don't mention where/how the "3 for 2" applies, but PRICELINE's Best Rate Guarantee applies to "rates available to the general public". If this is a current promotion Marriott is having it should be included in the Best Rate Guarantee (imo)... if to get the "3 for 2" deal you need to be a member of some group (AAA, AARP, etc) then it would be excluded. XT600 Posted October 24, 2008 Author Report Posted October 24, 2008 I mean.... the 3for2 promotion is for all people of this earth!!However priceline answers with standard replies, now in customer service hands.... it's only about some 5 USD/day but anyway....
