This one took me a little time to figure out and I was close to saying I was stumped because tripadvisor was not being very cooperative, but I think I finally found the one that matches.

I noticed that HOTWIRE mentions the tripadvisor traveler review rating for this hotel as 3.5/5 bases on 40+ reviews. Referencing tripadvisor directly yields one hotel that is in the zone that fits that rating: the El Palacio Sports Hotel.

The El Palacio would be my best guess.

The only one I can see on the list is the Springhill suites but the amenities don't alltogether match up. Any other ideas?

The property above has not yet been identified... what is the purpose of this stay? Even though the Ft Lauderdale Airport isn't too far from "Downtown", we don't typically see too many multiple nite stays in Airport zones, and it seems that there are other higher rated hotels in nearby zones.

For example, rather than an unknown 2.5* property for $109 in the airport zone, there is a 4* hotel offered thru HOTWIRE in the Downtown zone for $139/nite (believed to be the Renaissance). While this is a little more than the 2.5* hotel above, it's rated a full 1.5* higher, the Tripadvisor information indicates it's 4.0/5.0 which is a pretty good rating from users, and an extra $30 seems to be well spent on this 'known' property (even if not the Renaissance you still know you're getting a 'good' property based upon the user reviews... but i'd be surprised if it's not the Renaissance). Lastly, the hotel direct rate of the Renaissance for these dates is $239/nite, so assuming our guess is correct, $139 seems to be an excellent deal.

That sounds reasonable....I was hoping to find something with a breakfast or a shuttle. We are coming in for a cruise. I will probably take your advice, I will follow up when I decide and book via the link.

I see a 4-star hotel in North Fort Lauderdale for $139.00

fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center and high-speed internet

Is that the one you feel may be the Renaissance at #1617 Southeast 17th Street

Thanks

I decided I could do better with PRICELINE

I got the Renaissance Fort Lauderdale Plantation Hotel

for the dates of Jan 26 to 29/09.

One room, 3 nights for $96.00 plus tax $44.64. Total $332.64

I started with 3 star, downtown Fort Lauderdale @ $75.00, then added on airport zone, increased to $85.00, then was accepted after I added Plantation area for $96.00.

I might have got it cheaper but I am happy with my bid.

I booked through the PRICELINE link this time as well.

Thanks for the help.

Congratulations on your win!

Glad to see you got a great rate on this property and are happy with the results. I'm sure you'll be a lot happier here than at some 'unknown' 2.5* rated hotel.

Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.

Enjoy your stay (and cruise).

that was at the

Renaissance Fort Lauderdale Plantation Hotel

I bid again and was able now to get the other two rooms I needed for our friends, same place, same dates but for $91.00 each night instead of $96.00

I couldn't get it for any lower.

Thanks again.
