Hi Guys,

Congrats on the great site.

Hotwire search turns up a 3.5* at $279 and a 4* at $302 in the MTC area.

Any idea which hotels thest may be?

Looking for something for 2 adults and 2 kids 16/14.

Do you think I should wait for a better price?

Thanks for your help.

Welcome to BetterBidding! (and thanks for the compliments on the site :) )

For help identifying the above please include the amenities that HOTWIRE associates with each.

Also, i assume you're searching for one room 2adults/2children (as opposed to 2 rooms)

Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.

Let us know the above and we'll take a look

Below I'll provide four ideas, ranging from the most expensive ($300 per night) to the least expensive (near $200 per night.)

In terms of regular rate options around the same price, Travelocity has the Affinia Manhattan for $300 for a Studio Suite - and that's a 25% off sale price from the regular rate of $400.

This would still be expensive, but at least you'd get a larger room and kitchen area. The hotel also gets excellent reviews.

If this is of interest, it would be greatly appreciated if you could use the site's link to Travelocity.com (click the Travelocity.com) to start your purchase.

That's idea one.

Idea two would be to stay at the Millennium UN for 11/3-5 for $189. Use the promotional code ZOO to get this rate, which is only available on these two dates of your trip.

Then take the Affinia Manhattan for $300 for the last 3 nights via Travelocity.com (and again, it would be much appreciated if you could use the site's link to Travelocity, as it helps support the site.)

This would require switching hotels, but it would bring your per night average to $255.60.

Idea three:

Stay at the Millennium UN for 11/3-5 for $189. Use the promotional code ZOO to get this rate, which is only available on these two dates of your trip.

Combine that with:

Search on HOTWIRE.com for 11/5-8 for 2 adults and 2 children in NYC. There should be a 3.5* in Midtown Central with the amenities: smoke free, fitness, restaurant, business, internet for $269. This would appear to be the Sheraton Manhattan.

Again, you'd have to switch hotels, but with this you're looking at an average price per night down to $237.

Finally, idea four:

Millennium UN for 11/3-5 combined with Holiday Inn Midtown on 57th for 11/5-8 via Expedia. The Holiday Inn is $229 per night on Expedia non-refundable for these dates, BUT: use coupon code FAN50 for $50 off the final total.

This would be the cheapest suggestion of the bunch, with each night averaging around $203-204 (taking the FAN50 coupon for the last 3 nights into consideration.) If this idea is of interest, please use the site's link to Expedia.com for the Holiday Inn.

WOW.

Fantastic suggestions.

No problems with changing hotels. More money for the kids to spend shopping!!!!!!!!!!

I will use the links and I will post final arrangements.

Thanks

My pleasure, very happy to help! :)

Please let us know what you decide on - we can then edit the thread title after.

I figured that switching hotels will also allow you to be convenient to some sights during part of your trip, then more convenient to other sights during the other half.

Plus, as you mentioned, money saved can go towards many other things in NYC.

Additionally, the Millennium UN promotion includes an upgrade to a higher floor room (classified as a "Superior" room, and you should have the option of a "Superior 2 bed" for $189), where there should be some good city views.

Thanks again AaronJB.

I can't seem to get a Millennium room for 4.

Should I book one for 2 adults and single beds and get the 2 double beds with the upgrade?

Update;

Just called the hotel and all the double bed rooms have been sold out for my dates.

Back to drawing board for me!!!!!!!!!!!

There doesn't appear to be an option for kids (traditionally classified as under 17), only for adults. So, my thought was to just put two adults. When entering two adults and promo code ZOO on the hotel's site, the results should have one option for $189 that is Superior 2 Single Beds, which would be the option to get.

Decided to book a studio at the Manhattan Club on 200 W. 56th St. which seems to be a timeshare property for $275 per night, taxes and fees included. (No timeshare sales pitch required).

Location is pretty good and the reviews on Tripadvisor look OK.

Thanks alot for your help and keep up the good work.
