FreshMeat Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 Hello all - I am new to this site as well as new to priceline/hotwire. I would like to stay in midtown west or the upper west side during my 11/06-11/08 trip to NYC. There will be 5 in my group so I'm not sure if that is going to pose a problem. We would also like to spend less than $200 with taxes but are willing to go to $225 with taxes if need be. Does this seem realistic? Oh, we would like a 3 star hotel! Also which do you recommend priceline or hotwire. Thank you, I appreciate any help I can get to achieve a hotel at this price point!
AaronJB Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 Welcome to the site :)5 will pose a considerable problem in NYC, where hotel rooms are famously small, even at the more upscale properties. Many rooms have max occupancy of 2. Keep in mind that trying to fit more than 2 people in a room (if you do find a property with larger rooms) will also likely result in some considerable extra person fees for every person beyond the first two adults in the room.Priceline guarantees only double occupancy (1 bed for 2 people, in other words) in general, so that would not work in this case; Hotwire only allows 4 adults per room.Did you intend to have everyone in one room?
