I'm a freelance writer and almost always have to pay for my own hotel when interviewing or covering a story. Hotel prices in Orlando near the airport (where I need to be every Nov./Dec.) have jumped out of sight -- well over $100 -- even for a not-so-great place -- no matter where I look on the web or at the hotels. BetterBidding is a wonderful website, and although it took me hours over several days to make the reservation (it's a learning experience), the helpfulness of everyone on the forum was GREAT and I did it!I hope I'm posting this in the right place, but there's the bid history:No deals for a 3-1/2* at $40, $45, $55, or $65, so I went down to 3* and got the 3* Holiday Inn Select on the first try for $58. I know prices really jump in Orlando in "the season," and this was borne out.Thank you everyone for your forum help!
