Priceline Hotel: 3* Asheville Renaissance ?

Hello ----- I had a question about bidding for this hotel. When I saw this hotel listed on Priceline's site, they have it shown as 3.5*, but everyone who has made a successful bid for this hotel on this site lists it as a 3*. If I place a bid on Priceline, should I place the bid as a 3.5*? I don't want to stay at the Crowne Plaza because I need to stay downtown (no car) so I will probably just pay full price if there is the possibility of getting a different hotel.

The 3.5* rating is new with PRICELINE and we're in the process of updating the hotel lists (but it will take some time until completed). However, where/how do you see this property rated 3.5* by PRICELINE as i still see it rated 3*? (but see the Renaissance rated 3.5*)

If you can only stay at the Crowne Plaza then PRICELINE is probably not the way to go and you should probably book direct.

Thanks for your quick reply. I actually want to stay at the Renaissance since it is located downtown. I didn't want to to stay at the Crowne Plaza since it's outside of town and I would need a car. Since Priceline is now referring to the Renaissance as a 3.5*, I guess I can bid for that one and not worry about getting the Crowne Plaza instead. Thanks for clearing that up! I will be sure to use your PRICELINE link when I finally make my bid......

Keep in mind that you could also receive some hotel other than the Renaissance as well.

Thanks -- I will keep that in mind. After looking at the hotels on Priceline's site, the Renaissance seems to be the only 3.5* downtown, so I will limit my bids to that area. I'll let you know what happens.
