Priceline Hotel: 4* NYC (MTE) Grand Hyatt

:) I started looking 3 weeks ago: researching prices on the web for hours, considering budget hotels and B&B's where I might have to share a bathroom (all the decent ones were full!) checking "travelzoo" and AAA, looked for deals on my favorite hotel chain web sites directly (Marriott, Starwood, Omni, Hilton, Kimpton). With just ONE WEEK to go for my weekend stay, I decided to give PRICELINE a try. I started with my favorite location: the MTE only, and *4 only, intending to expand to other zones, and with a rebid strategy all ready to go, and my FIRST BID was accepted! Guess I should have started my bid lower, but I really wanted midtown and four star, so I'm very happy with the savings I'm getting for a Friday and Saturday night in high season in Mid-town East for only $165/night at the Grand Hyatt. (Same hotel on PRICELINE retail site or Expedia on these dates is $399./night right now.)

Good luck to other bidders! Thanks for providing advice on this forum.
