E&E Company Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 Hi all.I'm a bit surprised that I haven't been able to get a 4* star for these four nights for less than $210. Is there something big going on in NYC during this period?Do you have any tips? Should I break it out for two two-night stays at two different hotels?thanks in advance!

AaronJB Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 Thereuare would know about this better than I would, but would early November be the start of holiday shopping (although who knows how much of that is going to occur this year?) in NYC. While that may be lesser than previous years, I would think that it would still add to the traffic.I do see a few HOTWIRE options, including a 3* for $229 in the Empire State Building area w/breakfast and a 4* in Midtown Central for $255. If these are of interest, it would be greatly appreciated if you could use the HOTWIRE link provided in thereuare's post above. In terms of Priceline, given the Hotwire rates of $255 and up for a 4*, I don't think you're probably that far off from a winning PRICELINE bid.

thereuare Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread.I don't believe the HOTWIRE hotel aboove is the Sofitel or the Warwick... the Sheraton New York would be my best guess. How high are you willing to bid on PRICELINE? Is there a reason (a hotel you're trying to avoid?) in the ESB zone? Also, PRICELINE also just added 4* bidding to the USW zone... is that an option? Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. E&E Company Posted October 17, 2008 Author Report Posted October 17, 2008 $250.I'm not avoiding ESB at all. What's USW?Thanks!
thereuare Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 USW = typo... should be UWS (Upper West Side)Did you want to include this, and/or ESB, in your bidding?Let us know and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
