thereuare Posted October 11, 2008 Report Posted October 11, 2008 At the 4* level you have SIX re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.(NOTE: 're-bid zone1' is not the same as priceline's Zone1, 're-bid zone2' is not the same as priceline's Zone2, etc, etc)Select 4* MTE, MTW and TS...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone2...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone3...Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone4...Bid $155, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-acces PRICELINESelect 4* MTE, MTW and TS and re-bid zone5...Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone2...Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone3...Bid $175, if rejected add re-bid zone4...Bid $180, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-acces PRICELINESelect 4* MTE, MTW and TS and re-bid zone6...Bid $185, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $190, if rejected add re-bid zone2...Bid $195, if rejected add re-bid zone3...Bid $200, if rejected add re-bid zone4...Bid $205, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-acces PRICELINESelect 4* MTE, MTW and TS and re-bid zone5 and re-bid zone6...Bid $210, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $215, if rejected add re-bid zone2...Bid $220, if rejected add re-bid zone3...Bid $225, if rejected add re-bid zone4...Bid $230You may want to try the first part of the bidding (up to $155) for each set of dates, then move on to the next phase of the bidding (up to $180) for each set of dates, and so-on and so-on in order to avoiding overbidding for one set of dates if a previous set of dates would have a lower acceptance threshold. airportrocket Posted October 11, 2008 Author Report Posted October 11, 2008 hello, what about 3.5 star hotels in the ts, mte and mtw areas? How do I incorcoporate them into my bids?
airportrocket Posted October 12, 2008 Author Report Posted October 12, 2008 got the Millenium UN plaza for $199 which I am pretty sastified with the dates are from Oct 24-Oct 26. I first used the strategy suggested above for 4* and bid upto $250 but no luck. Tried to incorporate the strategy you suggested above into a 3.5 star hotel and sucess got accepted by the Millenium UN plaza. As for Oct 26-28th I found a special for the Millenium Broadway for $199 a nite, so I jumped on that immediatly. looks like Ill have to move hotels on the 26th but I dont care... its all good. Thanks theaurure for your help and yes I did use your PRICELINE link to book the hotel. :)
thereuare Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 Congratulations on your success!Glad to hear you got a nice deal and are happy with your results. If you still need help with a room for the nite of the 26ht feel free to start a NEW TOPIC.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay.PS- as i often recommend in this area, one morning for breakfast check out Ess-A-Bagel (Third Ave at 51st St)... one of the best bagels in the city and makes for a good, and inexpensive, breakfast with local NYers Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
