NickMedic Posted October 9, 2008 Report Posted October 9, 2008 When looking at hotwire at the different rental options for MCO (Orlando) some say car and counter located at Airport, others say varies by rental agencies. If it does say "varies by rental agency" does this mean it is offsite of the Airport property witha shuttle? Would that also mean if it says "Counter and Car are at airport" than it will give you an onsite rental agency (for MCO that being Avis, Alamo, National)ThanksNick
thereuare Posted October 9, 2008 Report Posted October 9, 2008 Can you give specific date and city examples of each so i can see firsthand what you're refering to.Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Thanks. NickMedic Posted October 9, 2008 Author Report Posted October 9, 2008 When using the dates for MCO on Hotwire for car rentals, some show as car and counter at airport and some say "varies by rental agency" just plug in any dates to see what I mean.Nick
thereuare Posted October 9, 2008 Report Posted October 9, 2008 I just tried one set of dates and they all appear as "varies by location". Can you please let us know what dates you searched for so that i can see exactly what you are seeing on your own monitor... i have a guess as to what the difference is, but will need to see it to confirm. NickMedic Posted October 9, 2008 Author Report Posted October 9, 2008 Use the dates Oct 15-Oct 22 noon pickup/dropoff
thereuare Posted October 9, 2008 Report Posted October 9, 2008 I see it now (and not the situation i originall thought)...If it does say "varies by rental agency" does this mean it is offsite of the Airport property witha shuttle? Would that also mean if it says "Counter and Car are at airport" than it will give you an onsite rental agency (for MCO that being Avis, Alamo, National)I would think that "varies by rental agency" would mean that it may be onsite or off-site (shuttle)... but i agree that "counter and car are at the airport" would indicate that the rental is onsite and i think you'd have a good case to complain if you received something other than an 'on site' company.Let us know what you ultimately decide (and if the onsite/varies by location) was 'true' based upon what was shown by HOTWIRE.Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. NickMedic Posted October 15, 2008 Author Report Posted October 15, 2008 Decided not to book through HOTWIRE. Booked direct with Alamo so I could just do online check in and walk stiaght to rental at MCO. If booked through hotwite I DIDNT want Alamo as they have HUGE lines everytime I am at MCO for manual checkin, which is required with a HOTWIRE or PRICELINE win.Nick
