cube Posted October 8, 2008 Report Posted October 8, 2008 I've used priceline a number of times, but this is a first for me. Priceline accepted a bid for a hotel in a lower category than i requested. Here's the history.1) I wanted a 3.5* in downtown detroit. I bid $45. This was rejected2) I added Dearborn, with the 4* selected. I bid $50. This was rejected.3) I then added Southfield. ONLY the 3.5 and 4*'s were selected. I bid $55. This was accepted by the Marriot Southfield. But this is a 3*!Other than the hotel being in a lower category than elected, I don't want to stay at this hotel. Priceline has already charged me. Does anyone know what my options are?Thank you.
thereuare Posted October 9, 2008 Report Posted October 9, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding!Sorry to hear you're disappointed with your results. If you check your winning bid confirmation page you'll see that PRICELINE currently rates this property 3.5* so (at least from their point of view) you did win a hotel at the star level you bid. There are some mixed reviews of this property, but overall they're mostly positive... what is it about this property that you dont' like OR were you just expecting something different? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. cube Posted October 9, 2008 Author Report Posted October 9, 2008 The mixed reviews for the most part, was hoping to get one of the hotels per the listing here etc. I heard back from priceline customer service. They have upgraded this hotel to a 3.5*, and that's it. For a 2 day stay, I can't really complain and price is ok so....but folks should be aware that the hotels in the listing here can be modified/deleted/added etc and is just a guide. But I guess the cheap prices make it all worth it :)
thereuare Posted October 10, 2008 Report Posted October 10, 2008 be aware that the hotels in the listing here can be modified/deleted/added etc and is just a guide. As is noted at the top of every Priceline Hotel List on the board.
