dk1 Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 HiLooking for help on a bidding strategy for a resort in the waikiki marina area for week of Nov 17.The hotel im interested in is the hilton hawaiin village (but willing to stay at other resorts as well). Ive seen the hotel list on this site and another for Priceline marina area. Is the Hilton Hawaiian Village the only resort in that area?thanks!

thereuare Posted October 8, 2008 Report Posted October 8, 2008 "resorts" are a higher rated category than 4*, so if you're trying for the Resort class property you should only bid RESORTS and not include 4* in your bidding. If on the otherhand you were actually looking for the least expensive 4* or better hotel for this stay then you would bid 4*. Note that when you select a star level category it is the minimum you are willing to accept, so PRICELINE can always upgrade your bid to a higher star rated property (so on a 4* bid you could be upgraded to a Resort property)Does the above make sense?
