Priceline Hotel: Syracuse hotels this weekend (10/10 - 10/12)

Anybody know what's going on in Syracuse this weekend? I've been trying to find a decently priced hotel for the last few hours, to no avail. Using the PRICELINE links from this site, I've tried (using dozens of different searches):

- 2.5, 3, and 3.5 star hotels

- Between $50-$65

- East Syracuse, Syracuse Airport, Syracuse University

I only use the Fairgrounds area for re-bids, since it's a little out of the way. From the Calendar wins, it seems there have been a number of $50-$60 wins for the 3/3.5 star Renaissance in the last little while, but it looks like that has changed. I know it's Columbus Day weekend, and that lots of Canadians like myself travel south to buy up the deals.

I'm wondering how high I'll need to bid in order to get a hotel. I was hoping for something in the $50-65 range, but maybe I'll need to go up to $80?

What is the best rate you're able to find at an acceptable hotel for these dates? (use our BetterChecker to assist in your search)

I took a quick look and the 3.5* properties i've found are each over $200/nite for these dates and while the 3* Embassy Suites is available for $159/nite, the bids you have already made are still donsiderably less than half of this.

Thanks for using our PRICELINE links to begin your bidding.

Good point. I think I got over-excited when I saw the earlier wins for such good prices. :)

I've gone back and went through another round of bids. This time, I went up to $85 for the 3.5, 3, and 2.5 stars in all four Syracuse areas -- still nothing. I'm a little wary about the 2 star rating, especially in the Airport area due to the reviews of the Best Western there. I'll keep trying!

The best rates at "acceptable" hotels were:

2* Quality Inn East Syracuse $91

3* Hampton Inn Syracuse Carrier Circle $94

3* CrestHill Suites Syracuse $99

3* Maplewood Inn $117

And, the nicer hotel:

3.5* Genesse Grande Hotel $151

If you were going to choose one which would it be?

If the 2* or 3* options i don't think i would bid much higher... if the 3.5* then i would continue to increase my bid a bit more than you have.

NOTE: if you book a back-up at either of the first two please note from our support page we're an affiliate of both the Hampton Inn and the Quality Hotel so please use these links if you go that route.

I'm also trying to get syracuse this weekend. I've bid up to $72 now for the 2 star in Syracuse Airport trying to get the Best western liverpool and no luck. Any suggestions for other regions with decent hotel for about $70 or less? Booking for Oct 11-13, 2 nights. I read that the Best western liverpool Grace Inn is a good 2 * but I'm weary about other 2 * hotels. At least the BW has free breakfast which is a bonus.
