B747-437B Posted July 16, 2004 Report Posted July 16, 2004 This is a brand spanking new property (opened only in April 2004) that is absolutely fantastic. Room was very large and nicely equipped with nice amenities including large TV, free high speed internet, 2 line phone, microwave, fridge, coffeemaker, etc...Hotel is located less than two minute drive from new Terminal 1. Great view of runway 23 approach and arrivals from the upper floor, but no aircraft noise problems.Airport shuttle is available around the clock, but you may have to call from arrivals if you don't want to wait too long. Covered and open-air parking are both available. The sign said to take a ticket and validate it at reception, but the gate was open and no charge was levied.Free continental breakfast in the lobby is fantastic. Stocked with pastries, cereal, fruit, juices, muffins, toast, preserves, etc... You name it, they had it. More importantly, the staff made sure to keep the counters clean and all the baskets full.No restaurant in the hotel, but they have a tie-up with a delivery service that will deliver from 20+ local restaurants right to your room. Indoor pool is decent as is the workout facility.Hotel staff are enthusiastic, helpful and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Definitely a property that I will reccomend in the future.
DeltaPurser Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 I second everything B747 wrote... Great hotel - everything is new and clean. Only problem would be the location - there is NOTHING around here. Getting to a restaurant could be a problem if you don't have a car - only thing within walking distance is a drive-thru Tim Horton's and a doughnut/coffee shop.Breakfast was excellent. We actually felt somewhat guilty to parttake in it since we had only paid $27 (incl. taxes and fees) to stay there. Will DEFINITELY stay here again!

There ARE places nearby but not particularly pedestrian friendly for access.Pedestrians can walk down Bresler Dr. to Airport Road and turn right. There is a Golden Griddle (I think its open 24 hrs) there. Alternatively, you can take the shuttle to the Terminal and hop on the Marriott's free shuttle from there. That drops you off at Dixon/Carlingview which has a huge number of options.
dtaylor1972 Posted September 14, 2009 Report Posted September 14, 2009 Update ! Still a decent hotel, but probably should not be classed at 3*.Maybe 2.5 at best IMHO.Property is showing age in the common areas, elevators, and somewhat in the rooms.Room was neat and clean - had Coffee / Fridge / Cable / WIFI / Iron. Free breakfast downstairs. It has gone 100% non smoking - which is an issue to me.Mainly because the Front desk / exit is on 1 end - and the elevator is on the other end.Poor design! For the price I got it for ($37+tax) I won't complain.Restaurant on hotel property / few others within walking distance, and the TTC bus stops within walking distance to go downtown and back for 2.75 versus a taxi for 40.
