Suburbanite05 Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 This was our first time staying at a Westin hotel. We stayed here as a 1 night getaway(9/26/08) since we are from the area. It's a new 4* hotel that opened in the fall of 2007. Located right across from Yorktown Mall. It is conveniently located to most everything in the western suburbs. Our checkin was uneventfull with our priceline reservation. Had a winning bid of $73 w/taxes/fees the total = $89.65. Everything you would expect from a new hotel. Everything was clean and modern. Assigned a standard room (room 927) with a king bed. Bed was comfortable and plush. Room was clean. The window did open about 4-5 inches. AC unit worked fine - not too loud. In room fridge with snacks for sale. Had a nice widescreen digital tv. Bathroom was clean with a standard tub which I thought was a little small. Though we did not use it, they have a nice, large pool, dry sauna and workout room. The bottle water they offer in the room costs $4 each - - unbelievable.I have only 1 complaint - they use white grout for the bathroom floor. After being opened for 1 yr, it is getting dingy/dirty looking (they should have used a grout sealer or a darker color) at least the bathroom in our room was. 2 restaurants are attached to the hotel, Harry Caray's(steakhouse) and Holy Mackerel(seafood). There are many other restaurants in the area which also includes a food court in the mall. We had sushi for dinner at RA restaurant which is on the other side of the mall from the Westin. I don't have any pictures since all my electronics were left at home, but the pictures at the Westin Lombard website should give you an idea of the hotel.
