[email protected] Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 I need help identifying this hotel. Amentities: Fitness, Restaurant, Business Center, High-speed Internet Access, Tennis Nearby12/27-12/30: $59I'm thinking that this might be the Essex Inn Hotel... but this isn't listed as pinned... I also realize that the amenities don't match exactly (i.e. Essex has a pool)... but then again, this isn't that unusual.Thanks.
AaronJB Posted September 27, 2008 Report Posted September 27, 2008 This may be the Best Western Grant Park.I would strongly recommend bidding on PRICELINE and seeing if you couldn't get something in the River North/NMA area or the Millennium Park/Loop/Grant Park area for the same price or slightly higher. If you need to be in the South Loop area, this is fine. Otherwise, I really wouldn't recommend it if you are coming as a tourist, as there's really very little going on in that area.At that time of year, I personally think it's worth trying to get something more centrally located. If this is $59, I'd try bidding $65 on PRICELINE for a 3* in the River North/NMA area.Additionally, if you do want the Essex, you can actually get it for about the same price on Orbitz. It's $66 on Orbitz. Use coupon code FABSAVE10 and get 10% off, which is $59 and change. Orbitz also has the Silversmith for $76, which is at least somewhat more centrally located in the Loop area. The link below is a non-refundable "Stay 2 Nights, Get 1 Free" deal at Starwood Properties. One of the options is for the 4* Sheraton Hotel and Towers for $119 a night, 3rd night free, which works out to an average of about $79 and change. While not a favorite 4*, the Sheraton is definitely a nicer property in a much nicer location. If interested, click the link below and search for your dates in Chicago. The Sheraton Hotel and Towers should be one of the options on the list.http://www.starwoodhotels.com/promotions/p...l?promoCode=Z3HAgain, if you need to be in that area, the Hotwire deal is fine. Otherwise, I think it's worth attempting to search out something nicer and more centrally located; you may have luck on PRICELINE, especially at that time of year.
