Meatpie Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Hello,I am new to the form! I needed to book 5 rooms in downtown Toronto for a group event. I was advised of this Wonderful Forum!! I went through the different topics and tips and figured that it was time to put this new found knowlege to the test.I followed step by step what "iginlafire" had mentioned and used the PRICELINE link from this forum:"Tried first bid at $60, then added Brampton and upped bid to $64. Accepted. It is worth noting that after the unsuccessful first bid, I got the message that Priceline was giving me a "one-time special offer" to re-bid without changing anything but my price, "based on the range of hotels you selected." It also stated that if I increased my offer by $17 it would be accepted. It didn't make any sense to do that with all the re-bid zones for downtown, so I didn't. And it saved me $13 over that "guaranteed to be accepted" price."Everything went as mentioned above but I got the 5 rooms at the Sheraton Centre for $67us per room for Oct 2nd 2008:D Thank you, Thank you, Thank you BB!!P.S. A friend of mine works at a 4 star hotel downtown Toronto and before I tried BB gave me his best rate for 5 rooms at $209 per room......and that WAS a deal compared to his regular rate.
