Priceline Hotel: 2.5* Charlotte (Downtown) Courtyard City Center

Started via the PRICELINE link on this website. I noticed that there are some new hotels to be bid for in Charlotte now, as a few areas had 3 1/2 stars listed, and others that didn't have 3 stars before, now do...so be careful! My guess is, it's a bunch of Marriotts, as I have not "won" a Marriott in Charlotte in years. And now I got the Courtyard. Usually it's the Holiday Inn Centre City that shows up around this price range. It'll be nice to try someplace new.

(I'm pleased as the price on Marriott's website for that night for this hotel was $179) Parking is $10, which is average for downtown Charlotte.

For those of you interested, my previous bid for a 3-star after adding other re-bid zones (and trying for 4 & 3 1/2 stars as well), was $51. I guess it's possible it could be had for $52. :)

Glad to see you're happy with the results and looking forward to your "change of pace" hotel. The star rating differences you mentioned are a total revamping of PRICELINE's star rating system. They have done away with the Boutique class of hotel and instituted a new 3.5* rating system... so many 2.5* properties are becoming 3* and many 3* are becoming 3.5* (and to a lesser extent some 4* are becoming 3.5*) There is a current discussion on the board here: PRICELINE NEW STAR RATING SYSTEM.

First of all...thank you for the NEW information! I sure guessed that one wrong. I admit I'm not as happy now. FYI, this was listed as a 3 star on Priceline. I don't ever bid lower than a 3 star, and now I'll re-think that. I wonder if the Holiday Inn Centre City has been upgraded to a 3 1/2?
