bradyasmin Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 I was poking around trying to figure out an upcoming trip and I noticed that if I rented a car next week the rate was about $10 per day cheaper on Priceline's listed prices and if I rented it for 2 weeks (same times and days of the week, just different date) it was about $5 per day cheaper than 3 weeks from now when I need the car. Do you have any advice on bidding (San Jose, CA) and time frames?Thank you.I will use your links and post an update if I bid on a car.Marisa
thereuare Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 See the related "early or close to check-in" link in our PRICELINE FAQ. That was written for hotels but same rules apply.I'm not sure if you can make the conclusion you have made above based upon your research... rates are date specific, so the rental next week could have lower demand for one reason or another OR the rental 2 weeks from now may unusually high demand (and thus higher prices). What are the dates of your rental? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
