robitude
Hello all, thanks for reading; I've been scanning this forum looking for a match for this Aruban hotel, but I haven't found one, so I figured I'd post away. I've searched for a 4-star hotel in Aruba (for the dates 7/20-7/26 of 2009) currently priced at $174 a night. Here are the amenities they've listed:- Resort- Beachfront- Casino- Fitness Center- Pool(s)- Restaurant(s)- Business Center- Laundry Facilities- High-speed Internet Access- Golf Nearby- Tennis Nearby- Spa ServicesApologies if I've overlooked the answer to this one somewhere on the forum, but thanks for any input you may have!(Some clues and anti-clues; I doubt it's the Hyatt because there's no "children's activities" identified in the listing I'm working from. Shouldn't be the Renaissance either, as this listing is Beachfront and the Ren appears to be "near beach." I suspect this is a listing for the Westin, although the lack of "spa services" indicated on other Westin threads clouds things a bit.) Link to comment

robitude
Thanks very much! I'm holding off on booking for a little while but will confirm when/if I do, and will certain use your link to do so. Link to comment
FLIGHTMEDIC
Before you book on HOTWIRE consider bidding on PRICELINE. While July is far away, if it is like this year, you should be able to get a room for about $100. I booked for this Dec. for $90 a night via a Priceline bid and got the Marriott. If you look at this site you will see that the Westin and Marriott have been "won" for about $90 - $110 a night.Whatever you do, use this site to navigate to HOTWIRE or PRICELINE to bid. We need to support this site to keep it running. Link to comment
robitude
Thanks for the suggestion, Flightmedic - I may wind up going through PRICELINE instead. I'm a bit wary about Priceline because I see on the Priceline forum here that the Renaissance is an occasional match, and I've decided that I definitely do not want to stay at the Renaissance (too close to Oranjestad itself, too close to the airport, and I'd like to be on the beach itself). I'm sure it's a lovely place, but it's not for me! If I could be sure that I'd get the Westin or the Marriott through Priceline (as opposed to the Ren), I'd definitely do it - those rates cannot be beat.Whatever I do, I'll definitely go through your PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links - this site is an absolute godsend. FLIGHTMEDIC
You are correct that the Ren sometimes comes in as a win via bidding on PRICELINE. If you 100% would not stay there then obviously you should not bid. I have been to Aruba 6 times and never stayed anywhere other than on Palm Beach. I am more than willing to give the Ren a try if I end up getting it for $90 or so a night. Not my first choice but the reviews of the Ren are great, although it is downtown. I can't see paying $200 plus to stay in Aruba if I could stay for $90 at the Ren. Link to comment
robitude
A final update as requested. I saw in someone else's post way back when that there was a phenomenal deal at the Westin through Easy Click Travel - I know this board no longer works with them, but a 6-night stay in an oceanview room with breakfast for less than $1000 was too good to pass up (this was a blind booking). The deal appears to have expired, but I pounced. I'll be sure to use the appropriate HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links when working through these sites in the future! Link to comment
thereuare
Thanks for the follow-up... glad you found something which works for your needs.Ideally we like all threads to have a 'resolution' as it at least lets future users know what ultimately happened rather than leave them wondering if you were successful but didn't post, found another deal, cancelled the trip, etc. There's been some mangement changes at Easy Click and Last Minute Travel and there is talk of starting their affiliation program again, so we may be abel to start working with them again... of course we'll keep the board updated.
