insp86 Posted September 16, 2008 Report Posted September 16, 2008 Hey all-I'm going on a trip with some college friends. We want one of the nicer hotels right on the strip. Because we'll be cramming four in a room (and plan on taking our chances reserving for two) the Venetian or Palazzo would be awesome, but not necessarily required. That Friday and Saturday night are expensive, even with discount codes, so I figured I'd post here. For each night, we'd like to spend less that 200 but could go up to 250 or even 300 if we know we'll be getting a sweet place (sweet = Venetian, Palazzo, Bellagio, Wynn, etc.).Any bidding advice? If I put in four stars, what is the worst place we could get (being far from the thick of it is the worst outcome in my opinion). Thanks so much!EDIT: I'd also use Hotwire if that would lead to a better and safer outcome.
thereuare Posted September 16, 2008 Report Posted September 16, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding! Is this just a one nite stay? You can't target the Venetian or Palazzo and the Trump International has been won as a 5* hotel in the North Strip zone, so if you aren't comfortable with receiving this property then you probably shouldn't bid this zone at the 5* level. You could bid the South Strip zone, as the only 5* reported in that zone has been THEhotel, but there is some risk as you could be the first to report a new 5* property in this zone.could go up to 250 or even 300 if we know we'll be getting a sweet place (sweet = Venetian, Palazzo, Bellagio, Wynn, etc.)Why not just book the Venetian direct or thru i4Vegas for $279/nite.Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. insp86 Posted September 16, 2008 Author Report Posted September 16, 2008 Thanks for the response! It is a two night stay, Friday and Saturday. I don't think we're okay with Trump due to the walk from the strip and lack of casino. I'll look into i4Vegas, that is better than what I've found elsewhere! Thanks! But do you think that's the best we'll be able to do? I know that's a tough question...
thereuare Posted September 16, 2008 Report Posted September 16, 2008 That rate is only for the one Friday nite as i thought that was your dates from your original topic title (i've sinced edited it to reflect a 2 nite stay)... the Saturday nite is more expensive so rates will be higher than i've posted above. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Miss5k Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 5* the best guess to be the Trump is down to $189 now. I am also looking for something for similar dates and have been looking around. I am not so locked in to the must for a 5* though. Good Luck.
