Just bid up from $89 to $120 with no luck. Try again tomorrow.

I see the Red Roof Inn @ $129, The Tremont @199(Expedia). Below my star rating but rooms are available.

There's some other hotels that have me interested for around $225

Springhill Suites by Marriott Chicago

Avenue Hotel Chicago

Me and my wife go downtown about once a year for an overnighter. So hoping to stay some place different as were running out of things to do. Thinking about the Bobby Bike Tours this time around.

Is the NMA zone the only one you're willing to bid... have you tried the Loop zone as well?

Rates are a bit high for this nite... since you're looking for something different, do you take advantage and go out in the city as well, or is this just a 'get away' and location within the city is not that important (i ask as you may be able to get a good deal near the convention center, which although is NOT centrally located for the typical tourist, may work for your needs if you don't need to be in the heart of the city OR only plan on leaving the hotel once, exploring for the date, then returning at nite and not needing to head out once again)

The rooms I mentioned earlier just went away. Kind of surprised me. I had eyed a hotel that I was hoping would come down in price on the last day but had to jump on it and I think I got the last room. I went back to reserve again for that same day - just to see - and no rooms available.

$209 for the Dana Hotel & Spa booked from their website. Sounds like an interesting place located on Erie and State. Yeah the most I ever spent for a room in Chicago but I've gotten some pretty good deals in the past and don't mind splurging this time. Next year or maybe Xmas time we'll look to do it cheaper.

The links are the ones at the top of the page correct? Used them a lot while checking out the availability but I suppose you don't get credit unless someone actually books.

Thanks

Just got an email from Marriott and they are having a weekend sale from now through December.

The promo code is F5X (that's F five X, not S, I think) and the rates for downtown start around $169 with the discount. Might be worth trying - you could save up to $50 a night or more.

The code above is only for weekend stays so wouldn't be applicable to the above date (which is for today)

For anyone looking to use this, it's available at all Marriott brands... you can easily use our BetterChecker to search the various Marriott brands without typing each one into your browser and continuing to input your information at each one. :)
