Ems! Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 HiThis will be my first time bidding on anything more than a 1 night stay on priceline. I want this area, and looking at the lists on here it seems there are 4 possibles. I really want the wyndham resort but would still be happy with the other 3 . Best price I can find elsewhere for the Wyndham is
slick_gd Posted September 15, 2008 Report Posted September 15, 2008 For a 3* in Universal-Seaworld there looks to be actually 6 re-bid zones. $40 probably is on the low side, and your chances might not be great, but I think with the 6 re-bid zones you will have plenty of room to work with so it may be worth a shot.I notice you are looking for 8 nights. Have you ever thought of splitting your bid: read Splitting Priceline Bids. You may be able to get a better deal, but you may have to switch hotels. Is this an option?
Ems! Posted September 15, 2008 Author Report Posted September 15, 2008 Thanks slick_gd, you are quite right there are 6 rebids - I just went and wrote them down! Must admit , I am a bit scared of the rebid zones in case it goes wrong and i end up miles away from where i want to be!I've read the info on splitting bids, and can see why it is a good idea, but tbh, as we don't have a car and are only there for 8 days, I'd rather pay a bit extra and not have to move.
thereuare Posted September 16, 2008 Report Posted September 16, 2008 You should be comfortable with whatever strategies you employ... do you want to use your re-bid zones or do you want to only make one bid per day.If you're not comfortable with PRICELINE adn re-bidding i just searched HOTWIRE for your dates and there are quite a few hotels in the Disney area for under $50/nite and as high as 3.5*.Let us know how you'd like to proceed. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Ems! Posted September 16, 2008 Author Report Posted September 16, 2008 Thanks thereuare,I think I will swot up a bit more this weekend when I have some free time then go for priceline with the free rebids. I'm guessing that as long as I check the hotels at each zone before I add it I will be OK!WE want to be on/close to I - drive as we aren't hiring a car and will mainly be around that area rather than disney.I'll use the PRICELINE link at the top of the page and come back to post when I have done it, wish me luck! :)
