zigzagger Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 Hi all. I booked a Priceline Stay recently at The Intercontienental Barclay hotel in NYC 9-28 to 10-1 for $140 per night on PRICELINE and extended it with 9-27 checkin for $207 that night (a higher rate). I was wondering if these rates that they offer for extending your stay are the best available rates possible for that property or if lower rates are possible. I ask because someone else booked this hotel 9-27-928 for $185 for that night, when i paid $207 i did not want ti bid again though for the extra night because of the risk of changing hotels. but i guess maybe it would be ok to do if i could save a lot of money
zigzagger Posted September 14, 2008 Author Report Posted September 14, 2008 Hey guys. I was just wondering if the offer to extend your stay on Priceline is the best available rate for that property in that time period on priceline or if the price is usually jacked up. I ask because i recently extended my stay on a nyc trip for one night for $207, when someone else paid $185 for that property on the same night.
thereuare Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 It's not the lowest possible price (ie- you coudl probably get a bid accepted at the same star level in the zone for a little less) but you then woudl have to take the chance that you receive a different hotel and have to change properties during your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
zigzagger Posted September 14, 2008 Author Report Posted September 14, 2008 Yea that was my concern. I did that actually in another visit to nyc- i saved $100 by changing hotels and booked my last night for $100 less total (with tax) Was it worth it? I guess it was in this case. The new hotel was only 3 blocks away. but i do suppose if it was quite a distance it can be a hassle, especially if you can't check in right away. In my case though they did allow an early checkin
