Priceline Hotel: 3* Las Vegas (South Strip) Excalibur

Hey all,

I am trying to get a great deal on a strip hotel. I have in my pocket a $79-per-night rate at Circus Circus, but would really like to upgrade. I have offered on Priceline:

$99 for a 5-star in both strips (ridiculous, but worth a shot, eh?) - No good, but countered with $171

$89 for a 4-star in strip North - No good, counter for $140

$89 for a 4-star in North/South - No good, counter for $139

What kind of strategy should I take? Will/could it get better as it gets closer, or are those probably the best prices I will pull?

Thank you in advance, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Under $100/nite for a 4* hotel on the strip for weekend dates (not in the summer) would be a pretty rare find. If you do raise your bid and win in the South Strip i think there is a good chance that you land the Westin which while in the South Strip zone is actually slightly off the strip... would this be an acceptable outcome?

HOTWIRE has what appears to be the Excalibur available for $94/nite if that interests you... it's rated lower than 4 stars but would certainly be a better choice, and more centrally located, than Circus Circus, imo.

Thoughts?

I would be fine with the $94 figure, and I found that on Hotwire. How do you know that it's Excalibur? Just the list of amenities, etc?

Either way, this is my girlfriend's first ever time to Vegas, so I would really like to be on the strip. If that is indeed Excalibur, I would go for that I think.

Thanks, and I appreciate the information.

We can't see the hotel name either, but the amenities match what has previously been reported for the Excalibur and looking at the TripAdvisor information it too is consistent with the Excalibur so that would be our best guess.

Congratulations on your success!

Glad to hear you received the hotel you were hoping for and that we were able to help... switching from a tent to a castle is always a good idea :) I'm sure it will prove to be a nicer first time Vegas experience for your girlfriend.
