Priceline Hotel: 2.5* Virginia Beach (Downtown Norfolk) Courtyard

Wanted two rooms, 9/13-14 @ Downtown Norfolk. I reviewed recent bids that were declined at $65, up to $70 I believe. I was trying to stick to a budget of $175 though, so here were my bids:

Downtown Norfolk: $60

Added Bowers Hill: $63

Added Chesapeake Suffolk: $68

Added Naval Base: $72

Think I have hit a dead-end :(

Supposed to be a "nice" night out, but I may just give in and add 2.5*...

Any other advice would be helpful.

Scratch that. Likely will get the Radisson or the Clarion and I just can't deal with the reviews or the exact location.

What is the best rate you're able to get thru conventional means? Are you willing to raise your maximum bid?

If you search with the BetterChecker you'll see the Marriott has a $119/nite rate for your date above which would put you ahead of your budget, but not sure what else you're seeing out there at this time and how much you're not interested in lowering your star level.

Multiple attempts at bidding two rooms at 3* for less than $75/night were unsuccessful. I was nervous about the 2.5* hotels based off of the location/reviews of other winning posts.

Very happy to have received a different 2.5* hotel than previous winning posts. The reviews of the Courtyard Marriott on non-affiliated sites seem positive. I will post my review next week.
