hdtv123 Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 I would prefer to stay at Mandalay Bay or Venetian. We require 4 rooms (4 couples). What are your recommendations for going about this and what should I start bidding at? Should I use Priceline or Hotwire?THanks so much. This will be my first time bidding on a hotel and am a little nervous.
hdtv123 Posted September 9, 2008 Author Report Posted September 9, 2008 If I only bid on the south strip am I guaranteed to get theHotel?
thereuare Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding! Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. You can not bid on a specific hotel. While THEhotel is the only 5* property currently reported in the South Strip zone, there could be others, and you could be the first to report a new hotel to the hotwire hotel list... read the warning/disclaimer at the top of the Priceline Hotel List.If you're trying to target or avoid a particular property then HOTWIRE can often be a better option as you can often identify the property before your purchase based upon the amenities that are shown to be associated with the hotel. (although for your dates it appears that only the Trump International is the only 5* property being offered in either zone)Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. hdtv123 Posted September 10, 2008 Author Report Posted September 10, 2008 I would prefer THEHotel or the Venetian...not keen on Trump tower. Please advise best course of action. Do you typically get better rates if you purchase/bid on more rooms at once, in our case 4 rooms?
thereuare Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 Usually bidding on multiple rooms is a non-factor, but if it does have an effect, it's a negative one.If you're not willing to accept the Trump International then you shouldn't bid the North Strip zone. As well, while THEhotel is the only 5* hotel currently reported in the South Strip zone, there could be others (the Bellagio comes to mind as one possibility)... are you willing to accept any 5* hotel in the South Strip zone? If so, let us know your maximum bid for this stay and we'll advise accordingly. (or if you decide that for the right price the Trump would be worth it and an acceptable outcome then let us know that as well)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
