melthread Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 I have been bidding on the 4* Paris Bercy area - there is only one hotel listed and a previous post from a winner at the Sofitel Bercy. I received an interesting counteroffer today, and would like some advice/suggestions:1/22 - bid $115 - counter 1551/23 - bid $125 - counter 1471/24 - bid $129 - counter 151How did the counter offer go up today? Should I be concerned? These dates are so far in advance. Thanks for your help!----Note on 2/3/08 - Just won the Bercy. Will post details at bottom of thread. Hey Everyone, thanks for all your guidance on bidding strategies. I decided that $140 was my max, so I just took my time, since we are so far out. Sure enough, after countless bids, I won the hotel for $139/night.Details:1/27 - bid 128 - counter 150 (22 more)1/28 - bid 134 - counter 1531/30 - bid 135 - counter 1541/31 - bid 136 - counter 1582/1 - bid 137 - counter 1542/3 - bid 138 - counter 160 (22 more)- then free rebid adding Mont/Batig (which has no 4* hotels) and got accepted at 139.We are very excited about this lovely hotel in Paris. Thanks again!
