mead0ws Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 We are booked to go to Orlando 31/01/08 to the 14/02/09, so we need a ball park figure to aim for with costings as we will need 3 rooms or a decent suite as there are 5 adults and our 10 year old son in the party. Is this a good time to be putting in bids for a holiday 6 months away, or should we leave it a while. Do the hotels work for example on offering discounts from 3 months before, so should we be leaving it for better deals till the year end? Reading a few other posts we are of the same problem to take a villa or hotel, but we want to be where the action is for our 3 older kids (18,21,23yrs). Appreciating the size of International drive at least there is transport available if they want to do their own thing, without relying on us to provide transport. Rather than us all squeezing into a 2 room suite from experiences of the readers are we wise to take the hit of the additional cost for 3 rooms for the space.Does anybody have a benchmark figure to aim for for each class of accomodation, at the moment the site's calendars are a bit sparce for our holiday slot .Many thanks in advance for your time and any advice you have to offer. Great website, will be spending much time reading and digesting your forums. Rob
thereuare Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding! In regards to "when to bid" there is a thread on this subject in our PRICELINE FAQ which gives some thoughts/insight.To get an idea of costs you can do a HOTWIRE search to get a feel for current opaque pricing. Whether you go for two rooms or three is one of budget and family preference... some families would like to all be togther... others would prefer the extra space, bathroom to get ready, and not be in such tight quarters.Any other questions feel free to ask.If/when you're ready to move forward let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
