For my winning hotel either I put in Bastille when I should have put in Bastignolles (doesn't have any 4*s) or Priceline.com f*ed up. Can't prove either now...According to Tripadvisor the hotel is okay, just far. Oh well.Taxes & Service Fees: US$33.57

melthread Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 We just got back from our stay at the Pullman Paris Bercy in August - also won from Priceline. This is a GREAT hotel, and the location is very good. No, it's not downtown Paris, but you are about 150 yards from the train station on the newest and fastest train in Paris. The Bercy village (100 yards) has about 10 restaurants, a few shops, and a theater. It was a Sofitel until February, so you can expect a super comfortable bed and fabulous nights of rest. And realistically, your train ride to Eiffel, Bastille, etc is maybe 10-15 minutes. Enjoy!

melthread Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 Thank you for your response. I posted my winning bid to the old betterbidding forum in February when I won it. Fortunately, the BB folks had quite a bit of discussion on this hotel and help me secure it for such a great rate.I paid $139/night for 5 nights in August.

e30m20 Posted September 9, 2008 Author Report Posted September 9, 2008 Thanks for the input melthread! I read your glowing review to my wife and now she wants me to book the Pullman again for the return leg of our trip, so we'll see if I can get it for cheaper.
melthread Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 My guess is that you can get it cheaper because the strengthening of the dollar most recently. Remember, bidding the exact same number proves different results with the exchange rate. Also, check out tripadvisor for substantial hotel reviews. I posted a more in-depth review of my experience at the Pullman and you'll read what others have to say as well.I can promise you, it was the most comfortable bed and best air-conditioning of our entire trip!
