thereuare Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 Please doublecheck the amenities HOTWIRE associates with this property... there is no "Fax" icon, unless it's mistaken for the Business Center icon, but you already listed that amenity.Let us konw the actual amenities currently shown and we'll take a look. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. slick_gd Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 Checking on HOTWIRE, the hotel that you listed does not seem to be the one listed anymore.Right now HOTWIRE lists a 3.5* in the Mag Mile area as: Boutique, Business, Fitness, Internet, with a 3.5 out of 5 tripadvisor traveler rating based on 300+ reviews which seems to be a match to Hotel 71. That would be my best guess.I can't comment on the hotel that you previously saw, because it has fairly generic icons. If you were to see it again, I would suggest looking at the tripadvisor traveler review rating (if listed), and use that to help you match the hotel. Also, post the rating it on the board and we can take another look.To find out where the actual area of the zone, click on the 'see area map' button in the 'area' search box on the left of the screen. You'll see that the division between Mag Mile-Streeterville and Mag Mile North-Water Tower is about Erie St.Use this HOTWIRE link to start your purchase and let the board know the result.
ROOTHEY Posted September 5, 2008 Author Report Posted September 5, 2008 Sorry about that....I thought the icon I saw was for a fax but the b was for boutique and the fax was for business center....unfortunatley I haven't had the oppurtunity to be here much So that must be Hotel 71 then Thanks!!!!Has anyone ever hotwired and got the Drake hotel???
thereuare Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 If you enter "Chicago Drake" (without the quotes) in the QUICK SEARCH box at the top of the board you will see all wins reported to the board for this property... scan the middle column to differentiate between PRICELINE and HOTWIRE wins (you can also use the board's full SEARCH function search just the Illinois - Hotwire forum, titles only, and search word "Drake" if you only want to see HOTWIRE results. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. ROOTHEY Posted September 6, 2008 Author Report Posted September 6, 2008 OkThanks I looked it up and it doesn't look like hotwire has it for those dates. It has a 4 * but nowhere does it say customer favourite and it only got 3 out of 5 rating for trip advisorSo now I was looking at priceline but I'm kind of scared. How far can you go on the site before you are actually charged for it and how do you know if its the right hotel? I've put in a bid and got to the page where I need to intial but didn't go farther thatn that....HELPI tried looking at tips and it sounds like if they accept it its yours but (again) how far can I go?????
thereuare Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 There is a button "BUY MY HOTEL ROOM" which is the final straw... but if you're not ready or willing to place a bid i wouldn't "fool around" with it to avoid any mistakes. The deep discounts you see on the board, and that you're seeking, is for not knowing the exact hotel you'll receive before your purchase... you're either willing to give up knowing the hotel for a discountd price or not. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. ROOTHEY Posted September 7, 2008 Author Report Posted September 7, 2008 also there is a $201 off the record on easy click that the reverse look up can't finddo you know what it is
ROOTHEY Posted September 7, 2008 Author Report Posted September 7, 2008 I see for 226 NMA - gold Coast 4*Sept 24-29fitnessrestaurantbusinessinternetCould this be the Drake
thereuare Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 The amenities match the Drake (as well as other hotels) but the prpoerty offered on your HOTWIRE search has a TA rating of 3.0/5.0 while the Drake currently has a TA rating of 4.0/5.0 so it doesn't appear that this is the Drake that you're seeing.I think the Millenium Knickerbocker is a better guess and that would be our best guess. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
